This ashtray, modeled after a Dachshund, has a brilliant golden appearance. When flipped, he has two engraved markings, one saying “JB” and the other “2729”. These engravings refer to the model of the ashtray produced by the Jenning Brothers. While the details of his, the pup, journey are unknown, he is now a proud member of the Holy Cross Archives and Distinctives Collections.
It can be seen that this pup was pre-owned, used, and loved. What has he seen? What has he heard? What important moments was he present for? What would he tell us? One can only imagine the memories he holds. The discoloration on the side of the pup's face shows that he has been through more time than we know. However, the reflectivity on the pup’s body and the smile on his face show that he hasn’t aged as much as we thought, he continues to look as euphoric as ever. It was an honor working with you, golden pup. Continue to age euphorically, shimmer vibrantly, and, most importantly, be captured by others’ memories.
