Description
All physical materials associated with the New England Province Archive are currently held by the Jesuit Archives in St. Louis, MO. Any inquiries about these materials should be directed to the Jesuit Archives . Electronic versions of some items and the descriptions and finding aids to the Archives, which are hosted in CrossWorks, are provided only as a courtesy.
Members of the New England Province worked in other missions that the Province Missions Offices did not administer directly: Brazil (1964 – 1977), the Caroline & Marshall Islands (1945 – 1977), Japan (1947 – 1985), and the Mid-East (1930s-2014). The Brazil records (1964 – 1992) include mission reports, financial material, superiors’ correspondence, other correspondence, conference notes and clippings. Visitation Reports are restricted. There are few records from Japan (1947-1979) or the Caroline & Marshall Islands (1945-1995) and the ones represented here are mostly correspondence, informational, or mass-printed material. The Mid-East material (1946-2010) contains contracts, reports, newsletters and correspondence. Many of the reports describe schools in the region. Visitation reports are included and are restricted.
