Description
I took this photo during my homestay with Mama Koleta and her family. My homestay partner had brought his ukulele to play for our family, and it was an instant hit. Soon, everyone in the family was taking turns playing it, and I took pictures to capture these moments. Although my homestay mama did not speak English and I spoke very little Swahili, we were able to connect and share many, many laughs together. The whole family gave me memories and lessons that I will always keep with me, and this photo reminds me of the welcoming spirit I found within Tanzania as a whole.
