Far-Flung Friends
Many journeys began on the slopes of Mount St. James, and Holy Cross alumni can be found all over this ever-shrinking planet. What is it that drives these wanderers? Meet nine alums who took the road less traveled. Where did they go? Why did they leave? And what did they learn?

The V-12 Program
While World War II raged, the College faced the wholesale emptying of its classrooms as young men enlisted—or were drafted, into the armed services. Then, in July 1943, Holy Cross became one of 131 institutions across the nation to host a V-12 unit. In turn, the insertion of the military into the life of a quiet Catholic New England college wrought many changes.
