Photograph of an oil portrait of Rev. Joseph T. O'Callahan, S.J. by Anthony Iarrobino. Fr. O'Callahan was a chaplain in the United States Navy serving on the USS Franklin when it was attacked during World War II. He was presented the Congressional Medal of Honor for his heroic actions, thus making him first military chaplain to receive this award.
The original oil painting is believed to have been commissioned for the USS O'Callahan and is now located at the College of the Holy Cross.
