Description
Contents of an envelope presumably collected by John D. Carroll from Paterson, New Jersey, who served as president of the International Catholic Deaf Association (ICDA). These materials were included in a scrapbook compiled by Carroll and were likely intended to be added to document activities and items of interest to the Deaf and Deaf Catholic communities, particularly in Paterson, Philadelphia and New York. The newspaper clippings are dated from 1947 to 1966 and are sourced from a variety of newspapers, newsletters and ephemera including The Advocate, The Silent News, New Jersey School Alumni Bulletin, Catholic Deaf Society of the Diocese of Peterson, Inc., The Pilot, Hudson Dispatch, Buffalo Courier-Express, Boston Daily Globe, Morristown Daily, Catholic News, Catholic Herald Citizen, Milwaukee Journal, Milwaukee Sentinel, Telegram (Toronto), ICDA News, The Canadian Register, and The Record.
