About Institutional Repositories

CrossWorks is the open-access institutional repository (IR) for the scholarly works, research, publications, creative activity, and reports produced by the faculty, students, administration and staff of the College of the Holy Cross. A repository aids to further research and scholarship as well as the teaching and service missions of the institution by making these assets readily accessible. Coordinated by Dinand Library, CrossWorks promotes the discovery, dissemination and preservation of this intellectual capital.

CrossWorks is a hosted service offered by bepress that provides a publishing platform and an archive in an open-access environment. As part of the Libraries’ strategic plan to provide leadership in facilitating access to Holy Cross’s locally created content, CrossWorks serves to both promote the use of the college's scholarly output and ensure its long-term preservation. By offering a shared, search engine optimized venue for original research, literary and artistic expression College publications, CrossWorks supports scholarly communications that reach globally across the boundaries of traditional academic disciplines.

CrossWorks is an excellent vehicle for working papers or copies of published articles and conference papers. Presentations, senior theses, and other works not published elsewhere can also be published in the IR. Submission, organization, and maintenance of accepted works is managed by the Digital Scholarship Librarian. Guidelines and policies relating to CrossWorks are overseen by the Dinand Library’s Scholarly Communication Team.
