2019 (2019)
The Criterion is a small journal of literary criticism open to all undergraduates at the College of the Holy Cross which publishes at the end of each Academic Year, We are staffed by the dedicated members of the Nu Chi chapter of the Sigma Tau Delta honor society. We are grateful to Professors Lee Oser and Sarah Stanbury for their dedication and determination in keeping this journal alive through the 2018-2019 year. Mooreover, we are thankful to all members of the Department of English faculty for cultivating strong students of literary criticism and for encouraging them to submit to our humble publication; and we must thank Professor Christine Coch, Chair of the Department, for her leadership both with the journal and with the Department broadly during a stressful year. We owe a debt to Lisa Villa of Dinand Library for helping to collate these works onto CrossWorks for all the world to see the hard work of our contributors, and, of course, we must thank those whose names grace the following pages. This year's submissions were of exceptional quality and without our contributors this endeavor would be all for naught. To everyone involved with this journal, we express our sincerest gratitude.
