Abstract
“Now we have small Willowbrooks”1: How the institutionalization of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities has persisted despite legislation aimed to prevent segregation and encourage community integration.
Research Question: With the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Olmstead v. L.C. decision currently in place to prevent the institutionalization of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and encourage community integration, how are there institutions for this community still operating today, perpetuating segregation?
