Description

This course traces the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the creation of modern nation states in the Middle East. The lecture will consider some of the consequences of the post WWI arrangement in the Middle East for questions of minorities in the region and for the creation of a massive refugee crisis. The lecture will also touch on the repercussions of the post WWI arrangement on current politics in the region.
