Ekphrasis, or the literary activity of writing in response to visual art, dates back to the ancient Greeks. Keats, Auden and many others, wrote some of their most beloved poems through an ekphrastic response to objects such as paintings and Greek urns. Come learn about this literary tradition, engage in discussion about the interaction of word and image, and try your hand at an exercise in Ekphrasis.
