Description

Questions about immigration not only took center stage in last year’s presidential election, but they also proved to be extremely divisive for the country. Many people have a “sense” of why immigration is good or bad for the United States, sometimes formed on the basis of a specific story that shows a good or bad outcome, sometimes based on a broader utopian or dystopian view of the world. But few have taken the time to really study the issue or even consider what questions should be asked. We’ll look at immigration into the United States – both legal and undocumented – through the lens of economics. There is a lot of data available. What do the data tell us?
